Work-based Learning Countrywide

The former Northumberland Training Agency (NTA) has joined forces with the Adult Learning Service to offer the following high quality work based training programmes to both young people and adults. 

Programmes for Young People 

Apprenticeships

If you are between 16-24 years you can learn in the workplace and complete an Apprenticeship at NVQ level 2 or 3. 

We offer the following Apprenticeships: 

• Accounting
• Business Administration
• Construction (Wood or Trowel Occupations, Painting & Decorating, Fenestration and
  Fitted Interiors

• Cultural Heritage
• Customer Service
• Information & Communication Technology

All apprentices are employed and the Adult Learning Service will help prepare young people for the work place as well as arrange interviews with potential employers.

Training in Childcare

Want to work with children?   In partnership with Sure Start NALS offers Childcare training to16-19 year olds leading to qualifications at Level 2 or 3.

Entry 2 Employment

Young People aged 16 to 18 who are not yet ready or able to enter an Apprenticeship programme, employment or further vocational learning are eligible to enter NALS Entry 2 Employment programme.

E2E learners follow a programme based on basic and key skills, personal and social skills and vocational learning.  Learners have the opportunity to work towards vocational qualifications or have work tasters in:
